Dhiraagu has introduced a complimentary router replacement programme for eligible residential fibre broadband customers across the Maldives, providing households with an opportunity to upgrade older equipment to newer models at no additional cost.

The initiative has been launched as part of Dhiraagu’s 38th-anniversary celebrations and is aimed at strengthening the quality and reliability of home internet services as demand for faster and more dependable digital connectivity continues to grow across the country.

Under the programme, residential customers subscribed to Dhiraagu fibre broadband packages with speeds of 30Mbps or above, including customers using the company’s Limitehneh packages, may qualify for a free replacement if they are currently using legacy fibre routers. Eligible customers can submit their requests until 31 October 2026.

Applications can be made conveniently through the dedicated promotion banner available on the Dhiraagu mobile application. Once approved, Dhiraagu will undertake the installation and configuration of the replacement router, helping customers transition to the updated equipment with minimal disruption to their existing broadband service.

Customers currently subscribed to lower-speed packages and using older routers may also become eligible by upgrading their broadband package to a qualifying plan offering speeds of at least 30Mbps. This provides customers with an opportunity to access improved network equipment while moving to higher-capacity internet packages suited to the increasing digital requirements of modern households.

The programme is expected to support improved Wi-Fi performance and overall household connectivity, particularly as Maldivian families increasingly depend on high-speed broadband for education, remote work, digital services, entertainment and everyday communication.

Dhiraagu said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to improving home connectivity standards and delivering greater value to customers throughout the Maldives. The programme also complements the country’s broader progress in digital development, as investments by telecommunications providers continue to strengthen communications infrastructure and expand access to reliable digital services across communities nationwide.
