Dhiraagu has launched a series of customer promotions and a new artificial intelligence call-handling assistant to celebrate its 38th anniversary, combining connectivity benefits with services designed to support everyday communication. The anniversary programme includes complimentary mobile data, international call minutes, fibre equipment upgrades and daily discounts through selected business partners.
The offers were announced at a press conference at Dhiraagu’s Head Office in Malé, marking the first public appearance of newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Valde Ferradaz. Addressing media representatives, Ferradaz highlighted the company’s history alongside the growth of the Maldivian economy and outlined its commitment to continued investment in digital infrastructure and emerging technologies.
According to Dhiraagu, Ferradaz expressed appreciation to customers, partners, regulators and government stakeholders for their contribution to the company’s journey. His remarks placed the anniversary within the wider development of the country’s telecommunications sector, while emphasising investment in services and technologies that can support future digital needs.
As part of the celebrations, both prepaid and postpaid mobile subscribers can claim a complimentary 38GB data package through the Dhiraagu mobile application. The offer provides customers with additional data for their online activities, making connectivity a central feature of the anniversary programme.
Prepaid customers can also receive 38 free international call minutes to Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the Philippines and Indonesia. The benefit offers an opportunity to stay connected with family, friends and other contacts across seven regional destinations.
Alongside the promotions, Dhiraagu has introduced “AiV,” an artificial intelligence assistant designed to handle incoming calls on behalf of users. The service aims to help customers manage calls and reduce missed communications, adding a new technology-based offering to the company’s service portfolio.
Residential fixed broadband customers are being offered free replacement of legacy fibre optical network terminal, or ONT, routers. The equipment replacement is subject to a 24-month contract commitment, an important condition for customers considering the upgrade.
The anniversary programme also extends to everyday spending through a 38-day voucher campaign for active mobile customers. Participants can access daily discounts from 12 selected EliteClub partners across dining, retail, groceries and accommodation through a dedicated portal within the Dhiraagu app.
Each participating partner will release 38 vouchers every day on a first-come, first-served basis. The campaign connects Dhiraagu customers with a range of businesses, offering opportunities to explore partner services and receive savings across several spending categories.
Together, the anniversary initiatives combine immediate customer benefits with new digital services and equipment renewal. As Dhiraagu celebrates 38 years, the programme reflects its continued focus on connectivity, customer engagement and investment in the technologies supporting the Maldives’ digital development.
