Sirru Fen Fushi – Private Lagoon Resort is welcoming the autumn travel season with the launch of its Golden Autumn Escape, a two-week programme inspired by China’s Golden Week and Mid-Autumn Festival, running from 25 September to 10 October 2026.
Designed for couples, families and multigenerational travellers, the seasonal programme combines Chinese cultural inspiration with the natural beauty and distinctive island experiences of the Maldives, offering guests a curated collection of culinary journeys, family activities, wellbeing experiences, sustainability initiatives and ocean adventures.
The programme has been created around the themes of togetherness, celebration and connection, reflecting the importance of Golden Week and the Mid-Autumn Festival for Chinese travellers while showcasing the resort’s private island setting and wide range of guest experiences.
Sirru Fen Fushi is surrounded by one of the Maldives’ largest natural lagoons and a thriving house reef, giving the resort a strong connection to the marine environment and allowing guests to combine relaxation with exploration of the Indian Ocean.
Throughout the Golden Autumn Escape, guests can enjoy a diverse selection of Asian-inspired culinary experiences designed to complement the cultural themes of the season. Highlights include The Golden Duck Soirée, Moonlight Hot Pot Experience and Imperial Seafood Feast, alongside hands-on Dumpling Making and Sushi Making classes.
These experiences give guests the opportunity to explore Asian flavours and culinary traditions while enjoying the distinctive atmosphere of a Maldivian private island resort. The dining programme has been designed to create memorable shared experiences for couples, families and groups travelling together during one of China’s most significant holiday periods.
Families will also have access to an extensive programme of creative and recreational activities throughout the two-week celebration. Younger guests can participate in lantern making, Golden Cookie Art, treasure hunts, cupcake decorating, origami workshops and festive craft activities.
Guests of different ages can also take part in Mahjong sessions, canvas painting, coconut art, archery and a variety of sporting activities, allowing families and multigenerational groups to enjoy a combination of cultural, creative and recreational experiences during their stay.
The resort’s natural marine environment will remain a major feature of the Golden Autumn programme. Guests can explore the surrounding waters through nurse shark snorkelling, sunset dolphin cruises, turtle research experiences, scuba activities and private ocean excursions.
Sirru Fen Fushi’s location within a large natural lagoon provides opportunities for guests to experience the Maldives’ internationally recognised marine biodiversity while learning more about the importance of preserving the ocean environment.
The Coralarium is among the resort’s distinctive marine and sustainability attractions. Guests can participate in Coralarium Discovery Tours, providing an opportunity to explore the resort’s connection between art, marine conservation and the surrounding reef ecosystem.
Coral planting experiences will also be available during the programme, giving guests the opportunity to contribute directly to reef conservation while gaining a deeper understanding of the marine environment that forms an essential part of the Maldives tourism experience.
Sustainability remains a central component of the Golden Autumn Escape. In addition to Coralarium Discovery Tours and coral planting, guests can participate in Sustainability Lab Tours, Turtle Tag Making and Ghost Net Bracelet Braiding.
These activities are designed to make environmental education part of the holiday experience while encouraging guests to engage more closely with conservation work taking place on the island.
The Sustainability Lab provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about practical environmental initiatives and the resort’s approach to reducing waste and supporting more responsible island operations. Activities using recovered marine materials also demonstrate how environmental awareness can be incorporated into creative guest experiences.
The resort is also hosting internationally recognised holistic wellness consultant Dr. Hetalkumar Doshi, founder of Energy Masters, as part of the Golden Autumn programme.
During his residency, Dr. Doshi will lead a selection of wellbeing experiences inspired by his holistic approach to health and the philosophy of the Five Elements. The programme includes Breathwork Meditation, Reiki Healing, Sound Healing, Silent Walking Meditation and Stress Relief Through Breath and Sound sessions.
Guests will also have access to personalised healing experiences and complimentary wellbeing consultations, adding another dimension to Sirru Fen Fushi’s broader wellness offering.
The residency reflects the resort’s continued focus on creating experiences that support physical, emotional and personal wellbeing while allowing guests to benefit from the peaceful natural surroundings of the island.
Sirru Fen Fushi’s positioning as a private lagoon resort gives it a distinctive place within the Maldives’ competitive luxury hospitality sector. The combination of a large lagoon, house reef, conservation programmes, marine activities, family experiences and personalised guest services allows the resort to appeal to a broad range of international travellers.
The Golden Autumn Escape further expands this offering by bringing cultural programming into the island experience, helping the resort respond to the interests of Chinese guests travelling during Golden Week and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Sirru Fen Fushi General Manager Rudrojit Deb said the programme was developed to recognise the importance of the two celebrations for Chinese travellers while giving guests the opportunity to experience the resort’s wider range of offerings.
“Golden Week and the Mid-Autumn Festival are among the most significant celebrations for Chinese travellers, centred around family, gratitude and togetherness,” Deb said.
“Through Golden Autumn Escape, we wanted to create a programme that honours these traditions while showcasing the unique experiences that make Sirru Fen Fushi such a special destination.”
He said the programme combines exceptional dining, holistic wellbeing, marine adventures and sustainability experiences, with each element designed to create meaningful moments for guests.
The programme also highlights the growing importance of personalised and culturally relevant experiences within the Maldives hospitality sector, particularly as resorts continue to strengthen their appeal across major international source markets.
China has long been an important market for Maldives tourism, and resort programmes designed around key Chinese travel periods can provide additional opportunities to attract families, couples and groups seeking premium island holidays.
The Maldives has continued to strengthen its global tourism offering through improved destination promotion, expanding international connectivity and the continued development of high-quality resort experiences. Within this environment, properties such as Sirru Fen Fushi are increasingly combining traditional luxury hospitality with cultural programming, conservation and experience-led travel.
Golden Autumn Escape forms part of Sirru Fen Fushi’s broader focus on immersive seasonal programming that combines Maldivian hospitality with carefully curated experiences for international visitors.
For guests, the programme offers the flexibility to create a holiday combining cultural celebration with time spent discovering the resort’s lagoon, marine life, sustainability initiatives, family experiences and culinary offerings.
The programme also provides opportunities for multigenerational travel, with activities designed to appeal to children, parents and older family members travelling together. This broad range of experiences reflects growing demand for island holidays where different generations can share time together while still enjoying activities suited to their individual interests.
Sirru Fen Fushi’s private island environment further enhances the sense of exclusivity and space associated with the Maldives. Its natural lagoon, reef system and ocean setting provide a backdrop for both active exploration and quieter moments throughout the stay.
The Golden Autumn Escape will run daily from 25 September to 10 October 2026, positioning Sirru Fen Fushi to welcome travellers during an important period in the Chinese outbound travel calendar.
By combining Asian cultural inspiration with marine exploration, family activities, sustainability and personalised wellbeing experiences, Sirru Fen Fushi is strengthening its international appeal while showcasing the diversity of experiences available across the Maldives’ luxury resort sector.
The seasonal programme also contributes to the wider positioning of the Maldives as a destination capable of delivering highly personalised experiences for travellers from different cultures and markets, supporting the country’s continued growth as one of the world’s leading island tourism destinations.
