Nova Maldives is preparing to welcome international travellers to an immersive year-end festive experience with “The Garden Within,” a specially curated programme running from 19 December 2026 to 7 January 2027, combining Maldivian culture, island-inspired dining, wellness, marine exploration, entertainment and meaningful experiences in the natural surroundings of South Ari Atoll.
Built around Nova Maldives’ philosophy of connection, the programme has been designed to encourage guests to enjoy the slower rhythm of island life while reconnecting with themselves, their families and the surrounding environment. From relaxed days beside the Indian Ocean and creative activities to cultural experiences, live entertainment and underwater adventures, the programme presents the Maldives as a destination offering much more than its internationally renowned beaches.
Located in South Ari Atoll, one of the Maldives’ best-known marine regions, Nova Maldives offers guests access to a tropical environment characterised by white-sand beaches, clear lagoons and rich underwater ecosystems. The resort’s location provides a particularly attractive setting for travellers interested in combining a luxury island holiday with encounters with some of the Maldives’ most remarkable marine life. Its festive programme will make extensive use of these natural surroundings, allowing visitors to experience the destination both above and below the water.
Island evenings during the festive period will feature a programme of community gatherings, traditional experiences and live entertainment. Guests will have an opportunity to experience the Grand Holhuashi, drawing inspiration from a longstanding Maldivian tradition associated with the country’s historic island and seafaring communities, where people gathered together at the end of the day to exchange stories and strengthen community ties. Through storytelling, music and traditional crafts, the experience will offer overseas visitors another opportunity to gain an appreciation of Maldivian heritage alongside the resort’s contemporary hospitality.
As 2026 comes to an end, Nova Maldives will host special gala dining experiences before welcoming 2027 with a midnight fireworks display over the island. Live performances by resident bands Supremacy and The Kabans, together with beach fire shows and evening entertainment at Wink, will add further variety to the resort’s seasonal programme and create a lively atmosphere for guests travelling as couples, families and groups.
Wellbeing will also form an important part of The Garden Within. EsKape Spa will introduce a selection of limited-time treatments intended to promote relaxation and personal wellbeing during the holiday period. These will include Reikilogy, combining Reiki techniques with foot reflexology, and Abhyanga, a traditional Ayurvedic warm-oil massage using rhythmic movements designed to encourage relaxation.
Guests looking for quieter restorative experiences will also be able to participate in the Soma Nāda Sound Journey, held beneath the Maldivian night sky and centred on soothing sound and reflection. The resort will additionally organise its Arogya Potli Workshop on Sunday mornings, allowing participants to select fragrant herbs and spices and create their own hand-tied herbal pouch as a personalised reminder of their time at Nova.
Dining will play a prominent role throughout the programme, with the resort drawing inspiration from both the surrounding ocean and Maldivian culinary traditions. Daytime offerings will include Dim Sum and Sushi light bites, while guests interested in local cuisine can participate in the Truly Maldivian Flavours workshop at Soul Kitchen, where practical cooking sessions will introduce participants to recipes, ingredients and techniques associated with Maldivian food.
At Mizu, Nova Maldives’ overwater restaurant, guests will be able to enjoy the Nova Sora Umi: Blooming Ocean menu, inspired by the meeting of the sky and the sea and available daily during the season. A special six-course Umi no Sachi: Bountiful Harvest of the Sea menu will also present a selection of seafood-focused dishes during key year-end celebrations, further highlighting the close relationship between island hospitality and the surrounding Indian Ocean.
Private dining experiences will give couples and other guests additional opportunities to enjoy the island’s natural environment. Special beachside dinners featuring grilled lobster will be available beneath the stars in secluded locations, while the resort’s Castaway experience will take guests to a remote sandbank for an intimate escape surrounded by sea, candlelight and the tranquillity of the Maldivian landscape.
South Ari Atoll’s celebrated marine environment will be another major focus of the festive programme. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in whale shark snorkelling excursions and Manta Quest experiences, offering the possibility of observing two of the Maldives’ most iconic marine species in their natural habitat. Beginner-friendly scuba experiences will also introduce first-time divers to the region’s underwater landscapes.
Nova Maldives is additionally incorporating environmental participation into the guest experience through reef clean-ups and its Coral Garden Sponsorship programme. Through the initiative, participating guests can become patrons of the resort’s coral conservation efforts and plant their own coral frame under the guidance of Nova’s marine team. The experience combines tourism with practical awareness of reef conservation and gives visitors a closer understanding of the importance of protecting the marine ecosystems on which island communities and the Maldivian tourism industry depend.

For the festive season, Nova Maldives is offering villas accommodating up to three guests from £457 per night on a full-board basis for direct bookings, providing international travellers with an opportunity to experience the resort’s extensive seasonal programme while enjoying one of the Maldives’ most celebrated tropical atolls.
