Bank of Maldives Academy has established a strategic partnership with INCEIF University to expand access to internationally recognised professional development and specialised learning opportunities for employees of Bank of Maldives.
Through the partnership, BML employees will gain access to INCEIF University’s globally recognised programmes in Islamic finance, executive education, professional certification and specialised training. The collaboration is expected to strengthen technical expertise, leadership capabilities and professional competencies across the Bank while supporting employees in adapting to developments within the banking and financial services industry.
The partnership will also facilitate knowledge sharing, industry engagement and leadership development by connecting BML employees with academic expertise and international practices in Islamic finance. These opportunities will contribute to the Bank’s efforts to maintain a skilled and future-ready workforce capable of supporting the continued development and diversification of the Maldives’ financial sector.
INCEIF University is internationally recognised for its focus on Islamic finance education, research and professional development. Access to its specialised programmes will provide BML employees with opportunities to deepen their understanding of Shariah-compliant financial principles, emerging financial practices, risk management, governance and other areas relevant to the evolving requirements of modern banking.
BML Academy serves as the Bank’s dedicated training and development arm and was established to support the continuous professional development of banking professionals through internationally recognised education and training. The Academy plays an important role in strengthening institutional capacity by providing employees with structured learning pathways, professional qualifications and specialised development programmes.
The Academy has previously established partnerships with the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers and Singapore Management University to organise and deliver programmes dedicated to the development of BML employees. These collaborations have supported the promotion of continuous learning across the organisation and enabled employees to benefit from international academic and professional expertise.
The partnership with INCEIF University further strengthens BML Academy’s growing network of international educational institutions. By expanding access to high-quality learning and professional certification opportunities, the Academy continues to support career development, leadership succession and the enhancement of service standards within the Bank.
The collaboration also complements national efforts to strengthen human capital, enhance professional standards and develop specialised expertise within the Maldives’ banking and financial services industry. Continued investment in education and workforce development will help ensure that the sector remains resilient, competitive and capable of supporting the country’s long-term economic and financial development.
BML Academy will continue to establish strategic partnerships with leading institutions to provide internationally relevant learning opportunities for its employees and contribute to the advancement of the banking and financial services industry in the Maldives.
