Atmosphere Core hosted a special Iftar evening on 8 March at VARU by Atmosphere, bringing together key tourism industry partners in a warm and reflective gathering to observe the holy month of Ramadan. Set against the tranquil beachfront surroundings of the island resort, the evening welcomed leading destination management company (DMC) partners, media representatives, and corporate commercial team leaders, offering a relaxed and meaningful environment for conversation and connection during this significant time of year.

Organised as a gesture of appreciation for its valued partners, the gathering provided an opportunity for guests to come together and share the moment of Iftar while strengthening professional relationships built through the Maldives’ thriving tourism sector. The Atmosphere Core team welcomed attendees at sunset, creating an inviting setting where guests enjoyed introductions, live music, and networking on the island. The informal and welcoming atmosphere allowed participants to connect in a setting that reflected the hospitality and warmth for which the Maldives is internationally recognised.

As the time approached to break the fast, guests gathered to share Iftar together, enjoying traditional Ramadan refreshments and a selection of carefully curated dishes that reflected the spirit of the occasion. The shared meal created a moment of reflection and togetherness, embodying the values of generosity, community, and gratitude that define the holy month of Ramadan.

Adding a celebratory touch to the evening, Atmosphere Core organised a raffle draw featuring special giveaways from several of its well-known brands, including THE OZEN COLLECTION, Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, and COLOURS OF OBLU. Guests had the opportunity to win two-night stays at OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO, VARU by Atmosphere, and OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI. The prizes were presented by members of the respective resort leadership teams, bringing an element of excitement and appreciation to the evening’s programme.

The gathering also coincided with International Women’s Day, allowing attendees to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the important role women continue to play across the global hospitality and travel industry. This added a meaningful dimension to the evening as participants acknowledged the contributions of women professionals who help shape the industry’s growth and success.

VARU by Atmosphere provided an ideal setting for the occasion through its distinctive “Naturally Maldivian” philosophy, which celebrates the rich cultural traditions of the Maldives. As part of Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, the resort places strong emphasis on incorporating local heritage into the guest experience, from architecture and design to culinary offerings and cultural storytelling. One of the resort’s highlights is KAAGÉ, its contemporary Maldivian specialty restaurant that pays tribute to the country’s culinary heritage while presenting traditional flavours in a modern setting.

Reflecting this commitment to local culture, the Iftar spread prepared for the evening featured a variety of traditional Maldivian delicacies alongside regional Ramadan favourites, offering guests an authentic taste of Maldivian hospitality. The thoughtfully prepared menu highlighted the richness of local flavours while creating a dining experience that honoured both tradition and the spirit of Ramadan.

Commenting on the occasion, Michel Politano, Senior Vice President – Commercial at Atmosphere Core, noted that Ramadan represents an important period for reflection, generosity, and community. He stated that the company’s DMC and media partners play a vital role in its journey, and their continued support remains highly valued. According to Politano, the Iftar gathering at VARU by Atmosphere created an excellent opportunity for the team to connect with partners, celebrate the spirit of the season, and further strengthen these important relationships while showcasing the warmth of Maldivian hospitality.

Ahmed Rifau, Resort Manager at VARU by Atmosphere, expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to host the event on the island. He said the team at VARU was delighted to welcome partners and media colleagues to the resort for the special evening, adding that Ramadan naturally brings people together and provides a meaningful moment to connect and share experiences. Rifau noted that hosting the gathering allowed guests to experience the genuine hospitality and welcoming atmosphere that VARU by Atmosphere strives to offer every visitor.

The evening concluded with closing remarks followed by continued networking among guests, allowing further opportunities for conversation and collaboration before attendees departed the island.
