Employees of Bank of Maldives (BML) have contributed donations to support a Ramadan initiative organised by Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) Aid, aimed at assisting vulnerable families across the Maldives with essential supplies during the holy month. The initiative prioritises families caring for children with special needs as well as single mothers, recognising the additional challenges many households face during Ramadan while striving to meet daily needs and maintain a nurturing environment for their children.

Through the collective generosity of BML staff, more than 100 essential care packs were prepared and distributed, reaching families of over 200 children. The support provided practical assistance during a time when community solidarity and compassion hold particular significance, ensuring that families received items necessary for daily living throughout Ramadan. The initiative also reflects a broader effort to strengthen social inclusion by supporting families who require additional care and resources, enabling them to observe the holy month with greater comfort and dignity.

The collaboration highlights the continued commitment of Bank of Maldives employees to community-focused initiatives and social responsibility programmes. Each year during Ramadan, the Bank’s staff actively engage in charitable efforts supporting local organisations working in areas of social welfare and humanitarian assistance. Similar contributions were extended to MOMS Aid during the previous year’s Ramadan, while ARC Aid has also benefited from employee-led support in recent years, demonstrating a sustained partnership between the Bank’s workforce and community organisations dedicated to improving the wellbeing of vulnerable groups.

ARC Aid’s ongoing programmes focus on advocating for children’s rights while providing practical assistance to families requiring additional support. Initiatives such as this Ramadan distribution play an important role in strengthening community networks and promoting shared responsibility for social welfare. The continued participation of corporate employees in humanitarian activities underscores the growing culture of volunteerism and collective care within Maldivian society, contributing positively to the lives of families and children while reinforcing values of compassion, generosity, and social cohesion that resonate strongly during Ramadan.
