A vibrant showcase of natural beauty, hospitality, and innovation awaits international audiences as the Maldives prepares for a compelling presence at the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025, the world’s premier travel and tourism trade event. Taking place from 4 to 6 November at ExCeL London, this global gathering will feature over 5,000 destinations and suppliers, with Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) leading a strong delegation to reaffirm the country’s prominent role in the international tourism industry.

Representing the Maldives this year will be a robust contingent of 160 tourism professionals from 70 companies across the nation’s travel and hospitality sectors. This coordinated effort not only underscores the Maldives’ continued commitment to global tourism engagement but also reflects the country’s dynamic approach to strengthening its visibility and partnerships in key markets.

Spanning a generous 650 square metres, the Maldives stand has been thoughtfully crafted to reflect the country’s iconic geography where turquoise waters meet white sandy shores and the warmth of its world-renowned hospitality. The pavilion will host 46 co-exhibitor counters, 55 B2B meeting tables, and three exclusive areas designated for business discussions, facilitating seamless networking and deal-making opportunities.

In line with enhancing visitor engagement and brand storytelling, Visit Maldives has incorporated a range of interactive features within the stand. Two information counters positioned on either side will provide attendees with comprehensive insights about the destination. A dedicated Liverpool FC Fan Zone, introduced as part of an ongoing international partnership, will invite football enthusiasts to engage with the brand in a fun, immersive way. Additionally, a state-of-the-art Interactive Zone will feature a holographic display showcasing the Maldives’ vibrant marine life and premium offerings from luxurious overwater villas to sustainable diving adventures.

One of the major highlights of this year’s WTM participation will be the launch of the Maldives Destination Guide 2026, the official annual publication by Visit Maldives that presents curated travel experiences, accommodation options, and cultural insights. This year’s edition aligns with the newly announced 2026 destination theme, “Ocean Nation.” As explained by Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of VMC, the theme symbolizes the Maldives’ profound relationship with the ocean, portraying the sea as a source of inspiration, wellbeing, and sustainable livelihood.

The Ocean Nation campaign goes beyond branding, it communicates a strong message of environmental stewardship and cultural pride. By emphasizing marine wellness, heritage, and eco-friendly travel experiences, the Maldives positions itself not only as a luxury getaway, but also as a leader in sustainable tourism and ocean conservation.

To extend its reach beyond the event venue, Visit Maldives has also launched a two-month outdoor advertising campaign in central London. Featuring 100 branded taxis wrapped in vivid tropical imagery, the campaign brings a burst of Maldivian sunshine to the streets of the UK capital during its chilly autumn season. The moving visuals aim to spark curiosity and daydreams of distant islands, reinforcing the Maldives as the ultimate escape for warmth, serenity, and rejuvenation.

As of 21 October 2025, the Maldives has welcomed 1,763,319 international visitors, a strong indicator of its successful marketing strategies, destination readiness, and resilient tourism ecosystem. This continued upward trend in arrivals is further supported by active participation in international fairs, strategic partnerships, and year-round promotional efforts led by Visit Maldives.

WTM London 2025 offers yet another stage for the Maldives to connect with tour operators, media, and global travellers, reinforcing its message of timeless beauty, innovative travel, and a deep-rooted connection to the ocean that defines its spirit.
