The award was received on behalf of the President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, by His Excellency Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan, Former President and Special Envoy of the President. The ceremonial handover took place at the closing event of the Global Tourism Forum Annual Meeting 2025, a premier gathering of world tourism leaders, policymakers, and industry experts.
