To strengthen the Maldives’ global tourism brand, His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially renamed the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation Limited (MMPRC) to Visit Maldives Corporation Limited, reflecting the organization’s longstanding identity and global recognition. The name change was formalized on 13th July 2025 under Presidential Decree issued in accordance with Act No. 19/2025.
Visit Maldives Corporation Limited functions as the national tourism board of the Maldives. Since its inception, the corporation has played a central role in supporting the government’s long-term tourism agenda by executing targeted marketing campaigns across key markets. The rebranding reinforces its mandate and enhances consistency in its global messaging, aligning the official name with the internationally known “Visit Maldives” destination brand.
The organization’s primary mission remains unchanged, to promote the Maldives as a premier travel destination through integrated, sustained, and market-driven promotional activities. With a focus on expanding market reach, the corporation works closely with industry partners and stakeholders to diversify tourism offerings and sustain the Maldives’ reputation as a top-tier destination.
Visit Maldives has actively engaged in a range of international tourism events and campaigns in recent years, showcasing the country’s luxury resorts, unique natural beauty, and rich cultural heritage to travelers across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. These include participating in major global travel trade fairs, digital marketing initiatives, strategic collaborations with influencers and media outlets, and hosting familiarization trips for travel professionals.
Under the leadership of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, the Government of Maldives continues to prioritize tourism as the backbone of the national economy. Tourism contributes more than 70% of the country’s foreign exchange earnings and accounts for over 25% of GDP.
