An extensive promotional campaign is currently underway across India, bringing together the Maldives’ finest hospitality providers and top-tier Indian travel agents in a major initiative to boost tourism from one of the country’s most valuable source markets. Officially endorsed by Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), the “Tatabye Maldives Roadshow” is a four-city event taking place from 12th to 16th May 2025.
Organized by Tatabye Maldives, a prominent Destination Management Company (DMC) operating in the Maldives, the event is being held in Cochin (12th May 2025), Coimbatore (13th May 2025), Hyderabad (15th May 2025), and Bengaluru (16th May 2025). More than 100 carefully selected travel agents are attending each session, with the opportunity to meet representatives from 22 distinguished Maldivian resort brands. The event is invitation-only and stands as one of the largest Maldives-focused roadshows hosted in India by a DMC to date.
With the growing demand from Indian travellers for high-end travel experiences, the roadshow is strategically designed to position the Maldives as a top destination for luxury holidays, romantic getaways, destination weddings, leisure travel, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). Through direct engagements with resort partners, Indian travel agents gain insights into the diverse offerings available in the Maldives, ranging from private overwater villas to curated wedding experiences.
Representing Visit Maldives, CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree commented, “We are pleased to support this extensive initiative by Tatabye Maldives to further connect with travel trade professionals across key Indian cities. This roadshow strengthens our ongoing efforts to promote the Maldives as a top-tier destination for Indian travellers seeking luxury, weddings, leisure, and business travel experiences.”
Tatabye Maldives, also known as Tatabye Tours, has spent more than a decade establishing itself as one of the leading wholesale operators in South India for Maldivian resorts. With direct contracts with over 150 resorts across the Maldives, the company maintains a strong presence in both Indian and Middle Eastern markets. Founder and Director of Sales & Marketing, Roshan Jain, expressed his gratitude for the official recognition, stating, “Tatabye Maldives is honored and proud to be officially endorsed by the Maldives Tourism Board. This recognition is a testament to our continued commitment to promoting the Maldives as a premier travel destination and delivering exceptional service.”
India continues to be a vital market for the Maldives. As of 11th May 2025, India ranks as the sixth largest source market, contributing 46,953 tourist arrivals, which accounts for 5.3% of the total international arrivals to the Maldives this year. In line with this demand, Visit Maldives has launched several key marketing initiatives targeting Indian audiences in 2025, most notably its partnership with the Mumbai Indians, India’s most successful cricket franchise as the Official Tourist Destination Partner for the current season.
The endorsement of Tatabye Maldives’ roadshow aligns with Visit Maldives’ broader marketing strategy to strengthen trade partnerships and sustain high visibility in India’s competitive outbound travel market. This approach ensures continued growth in tourist arrivals and highlights the Maldives as a versatile, world-class destination offering unmatched experiences for all types of travellers.
