An Iftar programme for university and college students was organized in the Maldives through the generous support of the Sharjah Charity Association of the United Arab Emirates, bringing together student representatives from several higher education institutions in an atmosphere of unity, reflection, and shared community values during the holy month of Ramadan.

The programme was organized by Jamiyyathu Rahma of the Republic of Maldives in cooperation with the Students’ Union of the Maldives National University. The gathering welcomed a number of representatives from student unions of various universities and colleges across the country, creating an opportunity for young leaders and student representatives to connect, engage, and share the spirit of Ramadan through communal Iftar.

Held during the sacred month observed by Muslims worldwide, the event reflected the importance of solidarity, compassion, and mutual support among communities. Students from different academic institutions came together to break their fast in a warm and welcoming environment that emphasized togetherness and the values of generosity that define Ramadan.

The initiative was made possible through the generous support of the Sharjah Charity Association in the United Arab Emirates, whose humanitarian and charitable contributions continue to support community programmes that benefit people across different parts of the world. Through this support, the programme helped create a meaningful platform for students in the Maldives to experience the values of cooperation, social responsibility, and shared faith traditions during Ramadan.

Organizers highlighted that the gathering served not only as an Iftar meal but also as an opportunity for student union representatives to strengthen relationships and promote collaboration among youth leaders from different educational institutions. By bringing together students from various universities and colleges, the event encouraged dialogue, networking, and a stronger sense of unity among young members of the Maldivian academic community.

The Al-Rahma Association expressed appreciation for the continued support extended by the Sharjah Charity Association, noting that such initiatives help foster goodwill, strengthen community ties, and provide opportunities for students to participate in meaningful programmes during Ramadan. The cooperation of the Maldives National University Students’ Union also played an important role in facilitating the participation of student representatives and ensuring the successful organization of the gathering.

Participants described the evening as a memorable occasion that reflected the values of sharing, gratitude, and unity that Ramadan promotes. The gathering brought together students who represent the future leadership of the nation, creating a space where faith, friendship, and mutual understanding were celebrated.

The organizers conveyed hope that the spirit of unity and generosity reflected during the event will continue to inspire similar initiatives throughout Ramadan and beyond, strengthening bonds within the student community and encouraging a culture of compassion and cooperation among young people in the Maldives.
