Dhiraagu has announced its Ramadan campaign for this year, introducing a wide range of customer-focused offers, digital services and community initiatives designed to strengthen family connections and enhance shared experiences throughout the holy month. The campaign was officially launched during a special press conference held on Tuesday, where company representatives outlined the theme and activities planned for customers across the Maldives.
Speaking at the event, Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Director of Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu, explained that this year’s Ramadan theme, “Ailee Gulhun,” places emphasis on the importance of family bonds and meaningful connections. He noted that as the nation’s leading telecommunications provider, Dhiraagu plays a central role in bringing families and communities together, enabling people to remain connected regardless of distance. He added that the company aims to support moments of togetherness during Ramadan through carefully designed promotions and initiatives that encourage communication, generosity and shared experiences. Extending Ramadan greetings to customers and their families, he expressed hope for a peaceful and blessed holy month for all.
As part of the Ramadan campaign, Dhiraagu introduced several promotional offers accessible through its digital platforms. One of the highlights is the “Crack A Kaashi” promotion, allowing customers to earn 2GB of free daily data through the DhiraaguApp by participating in a coconut-cracking activity. Customers who engage daily throughout Ramadan will also be entered into a draw for a holiday trip to China for two people, adding an element of excitement and engagement during the festive period.
To support late-night connectivity during religious activities, Dhiraagu has introduced unlimited data access for Tharaaveesdhan hours. Mobile customers activating any monthly add-on will be eligible for unlimited data, while additional options are available through special packages priced at MVR 35 for one day or MVR 199 for 28 days, valid daily from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Customers will also benefit from one hour of unlimited free calls or data during Haarudhan between 1:00 AM and 4:00 AM each night, allowing families and friends to remain connected during key moments of Ramadan.
Home broadband customers are also included in the campaign through a complimentary upgrade to Limitehneh packages, enabling higher internet speeds at the same price for two months. The company has further introduced the “Salhi Aailaa” feature, allowing users to share up to 30GB of data with as many as four family members while managing usage conveniently within a single account, reinforcing the campaign’s focus on family connectivity.
In addition to connectivity benefits, Dhiraagu has integrated charitable and gifting options into its Ramadan offerings. Customers can send Foodies vouchers to loved ones through the DhiraaguApp, providing a convenient way to share meals during the holy month. Through DhiraaguPay, customers can donate Iftar packs to migrant workers, which will be distributed in collaboration with Mission for Migrant Workers Maldives. Another initiative enables customers to contribute towards supporting vulnerable families via Moms Aid, with donations funding essential food care baskets. Dhiraagu has announced it will begin the programme by supporting 100 families, encouraging wider community participation throughout Ramadan. Customers will also be able to pay Fitr Zakat securely through DhiraaguPay, simplifying an important religious obligation through digital access.
Alongside promotional offers, Dhiraagu confirmed that several popular community engagement programmes will continue during Ramadan, including the Gudi Fest and Thashibari Movement initiatives, which will be held across islands nationwide. These activities aim to foster community spirit and bring people together through shared cultural experiences during the holy month.
The press conference concluded with the unveiling of a special short film centred on the theme of genuine family connections. Featuring well-known actors, the film highlights generational relationships and reflects the enduring importance of staying connected with loved ones. The production is scheduled for public release on the first day of Ramadan.
