Each property within the group’s Maldivian portfolio has curated its own distinctive programme, reflecting the character of the resort while embracing the themes of renewal, prosperity and togetherness associated with the Lunar New Year.

At Siyam World, part of the Lifestyle Collection, the celebrations blend cultural heritage with contemporary island energy. Guests will experience a live showcase combining Chinese-inspired DJ sets with the traditional guzheng, creating a distinctive fusion of electronic rhythms and classical melodies set against the backdrop of the Indian Ocean. The programme also features performances by the Chaozhou Shantou lion dance troupe, offering guests an opportunity not only to observe but also to participate and learn traditional movements. The resort’s expansive island setting provides a dynamic environment where cultural expression meets modern entertainment, reinforcing its reputation as a vibrant lifestyle destination.

Sun Siyam Olhuveli is offering a relaxed and family-friendly celebration shaped by traditional symbolism and island living. Throughout the week, red-themed décor and festive elements will create an atmosphere of celebration across the resort’s central spaces. Dragon displays and cultural showcases will animate the island, while traditional performances and live music add to the festive ambience. The celebrations will reach their peak on 16 and 17 February with evening performances by DJ Slim Belghith, whose international sound will accompany the festivities and create an engaging social atmosphere for guests of all ages.

Within the Privé Collection, Sun Siyam Iru Veli is presenting a programme that integrates cultural traditions with immersive family experiences. The resort’s Kids Club will host themed activities such as red envelope crafting, lantern making, zodiac-inspired art sessions and traditional games, encouraging younger guests to explore the meaning behind the season’s customs. The Fire Horse Pool Party at Chemistry will bring families together through music and refreshments in a lively yet intimate setting. Culinary highlights include hot pot lunches and dinners, alongside a dedicated Chinese section titled “Flavours of Fortune” at the Aqua Orange buffet. Seasonal spa treatments at Ocean Spa will further complement the programme, focusing on balance and renewal to reflect the spirit of the New Year.

At Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, the celebrations will culminate in a Grand Spring Gala Dinner showcasing international cuisine alongside Chinese specialities. A traditional lion dance performance will animate the evening, filling the island with symbolic gestures intended to welcome prosperity and good fortune. The resort’s tranquil setting provides an intimate environment for guests to gather and celebrate in a refined yet festive atmosphere.

Representing the Luxury Collection, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi is combining Chinese traditions with distinctive Maldivian experiences. The culinary programme includes beachfront seafood platters, Blue Lobster barbecues and traditional hot pot dinners, complemented by curated chocolate, cheese and champagne tastings. Younger guests can participate in dragon dance workshops and lantern painting sessions, while signature experiences such as Sunset Jet Car rides, Cinema by Moonlight aboard a private boat and floating breakfasts introduce additional layers of exclusivity and leisure. Evening turndown services incorporate local Maldivian touches, reflecting a thoughtful approach to cultural exchange. With 15 dining venues, family-oriented villas and dedicated adults-only spaces, the resort’s offering is designed to accommodate a broad spectrum of travellers seeking both celebration and relaxation.

Commenting on the initiative, Ahmed Naufal, Group Director of Business Development, stated that China remains an important market for Sun Siyam Resorts.
