Ooredoo Maldives has entered into a new partnership with global e-commerce platform Temu to provide selected customers with access to exclusive discount bundles for online shopping ahead of Ramadan, highlighting the expanding influence of digital platforms in shaping household consumption patterns in the Maldives. The collaboration is designed to enhance the overall customer experience by combining telecommunications services with value-driven lifestyle benefits during one of the most significant periods of the year for families across the country.

Under the arrangement, eligible Ooredoo customers who complete transactions through the Ooredoo App will receive a bundle of discount coupons that can be redeemed on the Temu App. The offer is available to the first 50,000 existing and new customers who spend a minimum of MVR 100 through the Ooredoo App, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. This includes prepaid and postpaid mobile customers, as well as users of SuperNet, Faseyha and AirFibre services, covering recharges, bill payments, add-on purchases, pack activations and other qualifying transactions. The initiative reflects Ooredoo’s commitment to rewarding customers for engaging with its digital platforms while encouraging seamless, app-based transactions.

The discount bundles are tailored to support Ramadan-related spending, with savings applicable across a broad spectrum of product categories available on Temu. Customers will be able to access offers on household essentials, lifestyle products, electronics, gifts and home décor, enabling families to prepare for the holy month with greater affordability and convenience. As Ramadan traditionally brings increased purchasing activity in areas such as home improvement, gifting and daily necessities, the partnership offers practical support aligned with evolving consumer preferences.

Hussain Niyaz noted that the collaboration is aimed at enhancing the value proposition of Ooredoo’s digital services by integrating lifestyle-focused benefits into its mobile ecosystem. He stated that the initiative responds to growing customer interest in online shopping and forms part of Ooredoo’s broader strategy to expand customer-facing digital services that extend beyond core connectivity. By embedding additional benefits into everyday mobile transactions, the company seeks to deliver a more comprehensive and rewarding digital experience.

The partnership also reflects broader developments in the Maldivian market, where digital commerce and app-based services are gaining prominence. Telecommunications providers are increasingly exploring strategic collaborations that connect connectivity services with retail and lifestyle offerings, reinforcing their role in supporting the country’s digital transformation. By linking mobile transactions with e-commerce incentives, Ooredoo Maldives and Temu are contributing to a more integrated digital economy, offering customers enhanced convenience, value and access to global online marketplaces in the lead-up to Ramadan.
